Arthur Jakubowski is a Hillscheid/Germany based photographic artist.

Using the early 19th century wet plate collodion process as well as other alternative black and white analog processes, he creates works of art full of expression and atmosphere that seem fallen out of time in the age of digital photography. However it is precisely analog photography that enables him to create individual works of art, which are increasingly important in a world that is becoming more and more uniform.

Wet plate photography in particular is so interactive with the elements and the chemicals used ,that in a time where mankind believes that everything can be controlled, they´ve been proven wrong.

When making wetplates ,it is simply worth it to give up control you would usually have to the process to create unique art that is imperfect, random in appearance, but beautiful as a result.

"All of your wetplate images are astonishing in the way they pull in the viewer.
And you certainly have a way with eyes. I don´t know if they are windows into anyone´s soul, but as you render them , they are certainly magnets."
